If you’ve seen any of my tweets over the past few days, you probably already know what I’m up to this week. I’ll give you a hint: I’m in LA, I’m surrounded by hundreds of virtual reality fans, and I have a demo slot to meet Henry in one hour.
Yeah, as I gave away in the title: I’m at Oculus Connect 2, the second-ever Oculus conference for developers and enthusiasts to learn about the latest and greatest developments on the Rift and Oculus mobile!
Yesterday evening, I attended the Proto Awards, a VR awards show that recognizes the accomplishments of developers working in VR, and the virtual reality spirit carries on through Friday with a series of demos, workshops, and keynote presentations from members of the Oculus engineering team and other influential developers working on virtual reality applications. The Proto Awards were a great chance to reflect back on what developers were able to achieve over the past months, and it’s time to look forward at the changes and improvements that will be coming up over the next year as Oculus comes closer and closer to the release time frame of Q1 2016.
As for me, I’m ready to soak up as much as I can while being surrounded by great developers from all over the globe! If you’re also hanging out around Loews this week, shoot me a message and let’s connect! I’ll be sharing my own reflections and thoughts as the event progresses, so stay tuned.
